Miss Thayarat Sopolpong
Born in Thailand in 1986. Now she is 20 years old. Miss Sopolpong has an interest for music since she was the first year in high school at Satri Wat Rakhang, Bangkok. She has joined in Satri Wat Rakhang High School Marching Band as pitch percussion section in 1997-2003. She’s got the prize of Yamaha All Thailand Marching Band Competition, The silver medal in 2002 and 2003
In the same time she started playing guitar and being a composer for her pop band. And after that she interested to play drum set, she tries to play it and join to competitions in One-2-Call! Extreme Dream Concert competition At the Center point of Siam square Bangkok, Thailand in 2002. She’s got The Champion, The Best song composition and the popular vote of contesting. This is the first prize of her music experience.
In 2004 she seriously focused on music and aimed to be a good musician. And then she passed entrance for a bachelor degree in music performing at the college of music, Mahidol University, Salaya, Thailand, majoring in percussion. She studied with Ms. Kae Hashimoto and Mr. Ty Constant. They gave her a lot of skills and techniques of performing percussion to upgrade her music performing level. She considered herself very much lucky to have two wonderful and kind instructors. When she studied in this college she was a percussionist of Thailand philharmonic orchestra, Mahidol wind symphony band, Mahidol wind camerata band, Sayowe Wind symphony band, Sayowe Orchestra Band and a principle of Mahidol Universiy Band including the member of Integrated Percussion Ensemble in Mahidol University. She had opportunity to work with many famous conductor such as Mr. Shuichi Komiyama ,Mr.Gudni A. Emillson, Mr. Allan McMurray, Mr.Chistoph Wyneken, Mr. Michalis Economou, Mr.Claude Villaret, Mr.Hobart Earle, Capt.Prateep Suphanrojn, Mr.Bundit Ungrangsri and Mr. Gordon Stout , the world class percussionist.
In 2005 she has got The Gold Medal, Star Division Corps Style and The Silver Medal, Marching Contest Star Division of contesting in World Music Contest (WMC) 2005 Kerkrade, Netherlands as a pitch percussion section.
In 2006-2007 she has got The Jury award of Solo performance for 3 times and had invited to solo for Mahidol Best Student Showcase Concert. She has got The Best performance student Mahidol scholarship for free tuition fee in all those year.
In the same year she past Audition and had got The PAS (Percussive Arts Society) International Scholarship Grant to join in Pasic convention at Austin Texas, USA.
And now Miss Sopolpong is study in the fourth year at college of music Mahidol University, Music performance majoring percussion teaching by Miss Wannapha Yannavut.
